BEAR

Sleeve Lake Outfitters offers all inclusive spring bear hunts, fall bear hunts and our famous fall bear/bird combo hunts. We’re located smack dab in the middle of big bear country in the famous “Interlake” region of Manitoba with numerous P&Y bears killed each year. We’ve taken many “booners” over the years but like any big game animal they’re not behind every tree and patience is key.
We typically split our hunts up and what we mean by that is we take half our hunters in the spring and half in the fall. We’ve found this takes a lot of pressure off the bears and it maximizes your chance at a trophy bruin.
Our bait sites are set up anywhere from 18-25 yards from the bait sites depending on which location you’re at. All of our tree stands a double wide so there’s plenty of room for your gear or even a friend. We run anywhere from 30-40 active baits with trail cameras at every site. We’ve also found this eliminates the guessing game as far as what baits have big bears and which ones don’t. We target trophy bears, we will not put you at a bait site that does not have a big bear on it. Our main goal is to put you on a trophy bear and we will do everything in our power to do so.
One question we get asked a lot is about success rate, we will guarantee 100% opportunity but when it comes to success that’s up to you. You will see bears during the week that is for sure, wether the big fella gives you a chance well that’s out of our hands. Let’s just say it’s very rare someone goes home empty handed.
Our all inclusive fall bear/bird combo hunt runs during the last week of September and first week of October. Its an action packed week, we start off with an afternoon bear hunt and the following morning begins the waterfowl hunting. This works out to 5 afternoon/evening bear hunts and 5 morning waterfowl hunts packed into 6 days. Honestly the only negative feedback we’ve gotten from the combo hunt is there’s not enough time to sleep.
